Rosewood Mayakoba Resort & Spa Review

Rosewood Mayakoba: A magical Oasis in the Riviera Maya

Date of Visit: November 2019
The Rosewood Mayakoba is an ultra-luxury hotel and was the perfect backdrop for a truly magical girls trip. Nestled among the lush mangroves and turquoise waters, this resort offers an unparalleled attention to detail, from the stunning design of each suite to the personalized butler service. As soon as you leave you’ll want to book your next trip back.

Accommodations: 5/5

At check-in we were upgraded to the Rooftop Ocean View Suite, a spacious one-bedroom suite with an extra sofa king bed and panoramic sea views from a rooftop terrace with plunge pool (966 ft²). As we stepped into our two-story private villa, we were greeted by the most incredible welcome gift of local mezcal and freshly made chips, salsa and guacamole. I’m still dreaming about our private roof top plunge pool and cabana.

Service: 5/5

The service truly sets Rosewood Mayakoba apart. The personalized butler service and their attention to detail was phenomenal. After check-in at the open air lobby pictured in the middle below, we were transported to our room on the most darling private boat, welcome drink in hand.

Dining: 4/5

Only there two nights, we enjoyed a few of the many incredible restaurants and bars. Casa del Lago was a lovely way to start the day with breakfast. The waterfront AQUÍ ME QUEDO (pictured below), was the perfect setting for dinner with its delicious modern twist on Mexican cuisine. I’ll always remember the churros with vanilla ice cream and caramel dipping sauce as fireworks went off over the water.

Spa and Wellness: 5/5

Sense, A Rosewood Spa®️ is truly a world class five star spa. Set amidst the tropical jungle, the spa offers a wide range of treatments and therapies inspired by ancient Mayan traditions. Every inch of the spa facilities were equally stunning and immaculate. I enjoyed several trips to the aqua circuit and sauna.

Activities and Amenities: 4/5

Rosewood Mayakoba offers 620 acres of pristine lagoons, jungles and beaches. Set in the private gated community, the unparalleled resort offerings include phenomenal cuisine, wellness, golf and beach clubs, and private and group excursions. There are plenty of amazing amenities for families too. I like to keep it simple and had a blast riding around on the resort bikes. Of course there are golf carts always available for easy transport too. The Riviera Maya doesn’t have the most stunning beaches, but they did a great job of keeping it clear of seaweed.

Overall Experience: 4.5/5

Rosewood Mayakoba is the perfect setting for a couples retreat, family vacation or group reunion. From the stunning accommodations to the impeccable service and world-class spa, this resort truly caters to the discerning traveler. If you are looking for a place where luxury meets a deep connection to nature, Rosewood Mayakoba is the perfect destination. Be prepared to want to come back.
