MIRAVAL arizona RESORT & SPA: AN INCLUSIVE LUXURY WELLNESS RETREAT

Date of Stay: September 2023
My second Miraval experience was a beautifully transformative three-night girls trip. Different from Miraval Austin, I could immediately sense the sacred healing desert energy. The three main Miraval properties are inclusive, non-tipping resorts with similar wellness classes and spa services offered daily. See the Spa and Wellness section for a few of my favorites.

ACCOMMODATIONS: 4/5

We stayed in the double queen Dream Catcher room inspired by the tranquility of the Sonoran Desert. The room was a little on the snug side for the two of us, but that didn’t detract from our experience. The beds truly feel like sleeping on a cloud and I’m entirely convinced I need the complete Miraval Bedding Collection.

SERVICE: 5/5

Same as Miraval Austin, the impeccable customer service experience begins weeks before check-in with planners dedicated to helping you create an itinerary based on your intentions. It’s always a good idea to sign up for classes and spa services well in advance of your stay. But, once on property, it’s easy to stop by the experience planners’ office conveniently located in the lobby for further insight into the classes and edit your schedule. You’ll feel held in the most caring hands of the kind-hearted staff your entire stay.

SPA & WELLNESS: 5/5

Miraval Arizona offers an extensive Spa Menu in addition to wellness activities and classes. From yoga and mediation sessions, to outdoor hikes, rope courses, bee keeping, equine therapy and fitness classes, there is truly something special and meaningful for everyone! In contrast to Miraval Austin, I wasn’t a huge fan of the yoga classes - the facility, lack of inspiring playlists and style of instruction were less my vibe. But if you prefer a more contemplative, spiritual music in the background type of yoga ambience, you may love them! The spa facilities were exceptional, and I highly appreciated the open door policy while on property, a first for me! If she has availability, I would absolutely recommend booking the Mother’s Blessing with Madre Emilia. I’m happy to share anything about the classes and spa treatments I enjoyed. Here’s a peek at my itinerary.

MY MIRAVAL ARIZONA GUEST ITINERARY - 4 DAYS

  • Sleep Well | Rituals for Better Sleep

  • Yin Yoga

  • Rise and Shine Yoga

  • Manifestation, Become a Conscience Creator of Your Life

  • Acupuncture (50 Min)

  • Mother’s Blessing (50 Min) w/Madre

    Emilia

  • Outdoor Celestial Evening Yoga

  • Psychic Protection Workshop

  • Chakra Vinyasa Yoga

* Experiences in bold were my favorite and would happily take again.

DINING: 4/5

I did slightly prefer the food at Miraval Austin, but still enjoyed all my dining experiences. The Palm Court Cafe was my happy place and The Cure was by far my favorite green juice. Don’t hesitate to ask for a copy of the recipes. Just down the hallway, The Cactus Flower is centrally located and serves as the main restaurant. The Community Table experience offers the same dinner menu, with a complimentary glass of wine.

FACILITIES & AMENITIES: 5/5

The original Miraval Resort property, the Arizona facilities are still beautiful and provide a serene backdrop for your wellness retreat. There is an abundance of areas to explore and activities to keep you busy for a good week.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE: 4.5/5

My friend accurately described the Miraval experience like a cruise ship for wellness - if that’s sounds like a good time to you, you should go! Given the wide range of activities, classes and spa treatments I would recommend Miraval for a solo trip, couples retreat, friend reunion as well as large groups.
