Oh how I love our newest addition to our camera family: the Fuji Instax Mini 90 Neo Classic. And it's not because I think any of the images are all that great. In fact, they are all mediocre at best.
But, here's the thing...this camera has set me free!
It's my ONE AND DONE camera.... one image a day reserved only for those moments when I'm overcome with joy and gratitude. It's about savoring the emotion and not creating a 'perfect image' and that's what I want to hold onto for all time. I have absolutely no idea how to compose or really manage the exposure setting on this baby so it's a point and shoot in the truest sense. Heck, half the time I can barely find the viewfinder. This lack of control has liberated me from all of my struggles with perfectionism I get tripped up with on the other cameras (including the iPhone). The Instax allows me to grab the shot and continue on living in the moment and truly soak in and really feel the beauty of it all.
Even better, it's the only camera the kids beg me to get out! Everything about the experience is fun.... their mama is happy and then out pops the picture and they have a tangible gift of the beauty we seek together.
I tape them up by the kitchen sink and at quick glance the JOY of each day comes flooding back and I'm instantly reminded of our many blessings.
How about you.... what's your favorite camera these days?
