LR FILE STRUCTURE.
Like a new mother nesting before her baby arrives, I've been busy cleaning up my photo library and preparing a place for the film scans to be filed in Lightroom. I organize my images by year and month. Within in each month folder, I have subfolders for personal and client sessions.
I back up all of my images in THREE different places.
1. Apple AirPort Time Capsule (backup hard drive)
2. Carbonite (cloud storage)
3. Portable External Hard Drive
I purchased the Creative Live course, Lightroom Essentials. If you are interested in learning LR you can check out a FREE preview for How Lightroom Works and a PDF for Lightroom 5 shortcuts. Lisa, the instructor, is amazing and I learned this FUN TIP: LR doesn't delete old catalogs, and every time it backs up before closing the application, it creates a WHOLE NEW catalog. To free up some hard drive space, you can delete some of the older catalogs. Check it out, I have eight old back up catalogs!
So how about you... what's your system for organizing and backing up your photos? Please share, we'd love to hear!
