A SHOOT OUT AND DINNER WITH NEW FRIENDS.
Last month was all sorts of dreamy. The weekend after the YANFAMWAY workshop, the incredibly talented and gracious Sarah Wilkerson hosted a group ladies at her home. We all hold a deep passion for photography and it was such a pleasure learning from these amazing women! I brought both cameras, but ended up holding onto the Contax 645 and playing around with both fuji and kodak 400 film stocks. We wrapped the evening up with the most delicious dinner and conversation!
I can't imagine ever shooting editorial work but it was a great opportunity to practice creative composition, with a subject willing to hold still long enough to focus and shoot with the Contax. Before heading out for the evening, I took a few mental notes from my wall of inspiration in the office. Magazines offer cheap and easy sources of beautiful imagery and new posing ideas and I'm always on the lookout for compositional elements I'd like to incorporate into my own work with children and families.
How about you...where do you find your creative inspiration?
